I have an embarrassing confession to make. Though I have been using vim for a long time I never bothered to look up who the creator of vim was. My assumption was that vim was part of Linux. But from a random tweet I learnt that Bram Moolenaar
is was the creator of vim. The tweet had RIP besides his name which indicated that he is no more in this world.
I don't know why but most of the great people that I admire, I only learnt about them after their life on earth got over.
From Mr. Moolenaar's wikipedia page I landed on his website. Looks similar to mine and one major difference is the background color and the font color.
His work of excellence in the field of computer science goes without saying and I am too small a mortal to even praise him for his work.
While browsing through his website I found the fun page on which he has listed down some funny one liners under the fortune section. But the one thing that made me so connected to this page were, the few lines from ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE (from the Monty Python movie "The life of Brian").
It personally felt that it was a message from Bram to the whole world. I have included the short audio file (that I downloaded from his website) below. I am pretty sure it will cheer everyone up like it did me.
And as Bram said, let's all have fun after a day of hard work.
